Cookie Policy
Effective Date: August 4, 2026
In Plain English: The apps use localStorage and IndexedDB for essential local data, plus one strictly necessary first-party cookie that keeps your Pro license unlocked. The website uses Plausible, which is cookie-free and runs everywhere, and Google Analytics, which does set cookies and is therefore not loaded at all in the EU, EEA, or UK. That is why there is no cookie banner: in those regions we set no non-essential cookies to ask you about. We do not use advertising or remarketing cookies anywhere.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit them. They help websites remember information about your visit, like your preferences or login status.
There are different types of cookies:
- Session cookies: Temporary cookies that expire when you close your browser
- Persistent cookies: Cookies that remain on your device until they expire or you delete them
- First-party cookies: Set by the website you're visiting
- Third-party cookies: Set by external services (like analytics or advertising)
2. How We Use Cookies and Similar Technologies
2.1 Essential Browser Storage (Not Cookies)
Our applications primarily use localStorage and IndexedDB, which are browser storage mechanisms that are technically not cookies. These store:
- Your stage plots and input lists
- Application settings and preferences
- License key information
- Language selection
- UI state (collapsed panels, view modes, etc.)
Why we use localStorage instead of cookies: localStorage is not automatically attached to every web request. The app reads it on your device and only transmits selected data when you use a network-backed feature such as sync, sharing, web import/export, support upload, or purchase verification.
2.2 One Essential Cookie: loadin_lk
There is one exception to the above. load·in sets a single first-party, strictly necessary cookie called loadin_lk. It holds your license key so Pro stays unlocked between sessions.
- Scope:
/loadinon goforshow.io only — it is not sent to any other site or path - Lifetime: one year, and it is cleared when your license is removed
- Third parties: none. It goes to us and nowhere else
- Purpose: keeping a feature you paid for working. It is not used for analytics, tracking, or advertising
Because it is strictly necessary to deliver a service you asked for, it does not require consent under the EU ePrivacy rules or UK PECR — but you should know it exists, so here it is. Clearing it means re-entering your license key.
This storage is essential for our Services to function. You cannot disable it without losing functionality.
2.3 Analytics Cookies
We use two analytics services, one of which uses cookies. The cookie-setting one is region-gated — see §2.4 below:
| Service | Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics (GA4) — outside the EU/EEA/UK only | _ga |
Distinguish unique visitors | 2 years |
| Google Analytics (GA4) — outside the EU/EEA/UK only | _ga_* |
Store session state | 2 years |
| Plausible Analytics | None | Privacy-friendly analytics (no cookies) | N/A |
2.4 Google Analytics Is Not Loaded in the EU, EEA, or UK
Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand aggregate website and web-app usage. Where it runs, Google sets _ga and _ga_<container-id> cookies under its own privacy terms.
Because those are non-essential cookies that would need your consent under GDPR and ePrivacy, we do not run GA4 in those jurisdictions at all. Before any analytics script is requested, we read your browser's IANA time-zone setting. If it names a European zone — or any other EU/EEA/UK jurisdiction, or if it cannot be read, or if your browser is hiding it — the GA4 tag is never requested and neither cookie is ever written. Analytics there is carried entirely by Plausible, which is cookie-free.
The check happens in your browser, before the tag loads. It reads only the time-zone name your browser already reports to every site; no location lookup is performed and nothing about it is sent anywhere.
Plausible Analytics: Does not use cookies at all. It collects anonymized usage statistics without any personal data or persistent identifiers.
3. What We Do NOT Use
We explicitly do NOT use:
- Advertising cookies: We do not serve ads or track you for advertising purposes
- Social media cookies: We do not embed social media widgets that track you
- Remarketing integrations: We do not build advertising audiences from load·in activity
- Targeted-advertising cookies: We do not use cookies to serve personalized ads
4. How to Manage Cookies
4.1 Browser Settings
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Here's how:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Cookies and site data
Note: If you block all cookies or clear localStorage, you will lose your saved stage plots and settings.
4.2 Opt Out of Google Analytics
If you are in the EU, EEA, or UK, there is nothing to opt out of on this site — Google Analytics is not loaded for you (see §2.4). Everywhere else, to opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites:
- Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
- Use browser privacy controls or a content blocker to block analytics requests
4.3 Private/Incognito Mode
Private/incognito storage is commonly cleared when the private session ends. Do not rely on a private window to retain stage plots or projects after it closes.
5. Third-Party Cookies
When you use our Services, the following third parties may set cookies:
5.1 Google Analytics
Outside the EU, EEA, and UK, Google sets the _ga and related cookies for analytics purposes. Google's use of cookies is governed by their privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. Inside the EU, EEA, and UK, Google Analytics is not loaded and sets nothing (see §2.4).
5.2 Stripe (Payment Pages Only)
When you click "Upgrade to Pro" and are redirected to Stripe's checkout page, Stripe may set its own cookies for fraud prevention and payment processing. These cookies are set by Stripe, not by us, and are governed by Stripe's privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy
Stripe cookies are only set when you visit Stripe's checkout page, not when browsing our main site or using our applications.
6. Detailed Cookie Table
| Type | Name | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Analytics | _ga |
Distinguish unique users — not set in the EU/EEA/UK | 2 years | Third-party (Google) |
| Analytics | _ga_<container-id> |
Persist session state — not set in the EU/EEA/UK | 2 years | Third-party (Google) |
| Cookie | loadin_lk | Keeps your Pro license unlocked (see §2.2) | 1 year | First-party (essential) |
| localStorage | loadin_library / sl2 |
Store the local project library and current working state | Persistent | First-party (essential) |
| localStorage | gfs_pro / loadin_pro_license |
Cache purchase entitlement or web-license state | Persistent | First-party (essential) |
| localStorage | gfs_theme and app preference keys |
Store app preferences | Persistent | First-party (essential) |
| localStorage | gfs_lang / loadin_lang |

Note: localStorage is not a cookie and is not automatically sent with HTTP requests. The app may read selected local data and send it when you intentionally use a network-backed feature, as described in the Privacy Policy.
