Convert an X32 scene to a dLive show

Switching consoles mid-tour or mid-advance doesn't have to mean retyping the show. Import an X32/M32 scene, let load·in build the one record of the show, and export it as a native dLive Director show archive.

load·in input list and stage plot screen

Steps

  1. Import the X32/M32 scene. load·in reads the .scn file into one record of the show — names, colors, and the fields it supports.
  2. Review the input list. This is the moment to catch anything before it crosses to a different desk's format.
  3. Export as a dLive show. load·in writes a Director show archive (.tar.gz) from the same record.
  4. Load it in Director or on the dLive console. Confirm the load there — cross-desk translation does not imply every parameter carried across.

Cross-desk generation does not imply complete parameter translation. Each console page states what carries and what doesn't — verify the exported file in the destination desk's own editor before show use.

This is the workflow that makes a console swap mid-tour survivable: the record of the show moves with you, even when the hardware doesn't.

FAQ

Does every setting move from X32 to dLive?

No. Names, colors, and the disclosed shared fields translate; console-specific processing does not carry across desk families. Check /consoles/allen-heath-dlive/ for the current field list.

Can I go the other direction, dLive to X32?

Yes — the same input-list record works in either direction between any two supported native workflows.

Is cross-desk conversion free?

The input list and CSV export are free; native file export on both ends follows each console's own free/Pro status.

Try it with your own show
